# What should informed consent look like at an aesthetic consultation?

Informed consent at an aesthetic consultation is a conversation that helps you decide freely and safely. It is not just a signature on a form, and a consultation does not commit you to treatment. You should have time to understand the proposed option, its risks and limitations, reasonable alternatives, likely aftercare and what may happen if you choose not to proceed.
