Choosing a cosmetic clinic in South East Melbourne

Ask for the practitioner’s full name and profession, then use the Ahpra public register. The register concerns individual health practitioners, not a quality ranking of clinic businesses.

Ask about education and experience relevant to the care being discussed, who else would be involved and who would conduct a review. If a clinic uses more than one location or practitioner, confirm the arrangements for your appointment specifically. Do not assume that the person pictured on the website will be the person you see.

A clinician should ask about the concern, onset, medicines, supplements, allergies, relevant medical and dental history, previous cosmetic care, reactions, pregnancy or breastfeeding status where relevant, event timing and expectations.

The important test is whether those facts change the questions, explanation or plan. History collection should not be a formality detached from clinical reasoning.

Ask Corey what he observes, what remains uncertain and how your priorities relate to anatomy, movement, skin or facial proportion. A useful answer should explain material risks, alternatives, limits, costs, aftercare and review in language you can understand.

Suitable care can be planned when individual assessment and informed consent support it. More information, adjusted timing, another clinical review or a different pathway can be incorporated when useful.

Consent should allow questions, reflect your specific health and goals, and distinguish likely benefits from uncertainty. It should also record what you want to preserve and which alternatives you have considered.

A signed form is only one part of consent. The discussion and your understanding are the central evidence.

The four questions before agreeing can help you organise that discussion. The Ahpra cosmetic procedure guidelines set out practitioner responsibilities. You can seek another opinion, wait or choose no cosmetic treatment.

Ask each clinic for its consultation fee, the full cost of any proposed plan and what could cost extra. Clarify whether review attendance and additional treatment are charged separately. Ask for the information before agreeing to care.

Ask how to contact the treating team, what written aftercare you would receive and who covers care when the practitioner is unavailable. Practical travel planning does not replace those contact arrangements.

A public price list may not describe every option. The TGA restricts direct and indirect references to prescription medicines in health-service advertising. Relevant individual options and costs can be explained privately without using a public advertisement as a treatment recommendation.

The entrance is directly on Atherton Road, with one step into the store. Contact the clinic before visiting if this may affect your access. There is street parking out the front and a large car park across the road; check signs and availability when you arrive.
