Opening Hours

Tuesday - Saturday by Appointment

After anti wrinkle treatment, avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas, avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours, avoid lying flat for four hours, and avoid exposure to significant heat. Results begin to develop over several days and the full effect is visible at two weeks. Contact your practitioner if anything feels unexpected.

Anti wrinkle injectable treatment is a straightforward procedure with a simple aftercare protocol. Following the guidance your practitioner provides helps the product settle as intended, reduces the small risk of complications and gives you the best chance of a clean, natural result.

This guide covers the key aftercare points from the clinical perspective of Corey Anderson at Core Aesthetics in Oakleigh.

Immediately After Treatment

In the hours immediately following anti wrinkle treatment, the priority is avoiding any pressure, rubbing or massage of the treated areas. The product is placed at precise anatomical locations and the goal is to allow it to settle in those locations without being mechanically displaced. Do not rub, press or massage injection sites. Avoid lying flat for four hours after treatment to reduce the effect of gravity on product distribution in forehead and brow areas. Avoid touching your face unnecessarily in the first few hours.

Minor redness, swelling or small marks at injection sites are normal and typically resolve within a few hours. Mild bruising is possible, particularly if small blood vessels were encountered during the injection process. Bruising at injection sites is expected to resolve over a few days.

The First 24 Hours

For the first 24 hours, avoid strenuous exercise. Vigorous physical activity raises body temperature and increases blood flow to the face, which can theoretically affect how the product distributes in the early settling period. Light activity such as walking is generally fine. Avoid alcohol in the first 24 hours as it can increase bruising and swelling. Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot showers and other heat exposure that significantly raises facial temperature.

Avoid facial massage, facials or any other treatment involving pressure to the face during this period. If you wear glasses, they should not rest on the nose bridge treatment area if you have received bunny line treatment.

Skincare in the Post Treatment Period

Your regular skincare routine can generally be resumed the day after treatment with a few exceptions. Avoid retinol and other potentially sensitising active ingredients for several days while injection sites settle. If in doubt about a specific product, check with your practitioner. Gentle, fragrance free moisturisers and SPF are appropriate and encouraged. Avoid active ingredients that cause skin sensitivity or exfoliation in the immediate post treatment period.

When Results Develop and What to Expect

Anti wrinkle treatment does not produce its result immediately. The product works by reducing nerve signalling to the targeted muscle, and this process takes several days. Most clients begin to notice the treatment taking effect at around two to four days. The full result is typically visible at two weeks. During this settling period, asymmetry or unevenness in the developing result is common and usually resolves as the product settles fully. Review your result at two weeks, not at five days.

A review appointment at Core Aesthetics is standard two weeks after your initial treatment. This allows Corey to assess the settled result and discuss whether any adjustment is appropriate or whether a slightly different approach at the next treatment would better suit your anatomy.

When to Contact Your Practitioner

Contact Core Aesthetics directly if you experience a drooping brow or eyelid, significant or asymmetrical facial muscle weakness outside the intended treatment areas, severe or persistent headache, any vision changes, or anything else that feels unexpected or concerning. Do not rely solely on general internet searches for post treatment reassurance. Your practitioner is the appropriate first point of contact for any concern after treatment.
