Core Aesthetics offers frown line treatment for Caulfield residents at their Oakleigh clinic, approximately 12 minutes from Caulfield Post Office. All treatment individually assessed by Corey Anderson, AHPRA registered nurse NMW0001047575.

Frown lines, the vertical creases between the brows often called the eleven lines, are one of the most emotionally significant visible changes in the upper face.

They are not just about looking older. They change the resting expression of the face. A deeply established frown line complex can make a person look permanently concerned, tired, or disapproving, regardless of how they actually feel. People in Caulfield who come to Core Aesthetics for frown line assessment often describe the same experience: being told they look worried, stressed or unapproachable when they feel nothing of the sort.

“When the frown complex relaxes, the face at rest looks more open. More approachable.”

Core Aesthetics is approximately 10 to 15 minutes south east of Caulfield on Warrigal Road, and serves Caulfield residents with a consultation led approach to frown line treatment that assesses the full upper face before any recommendation is made.

Why Frown Lines Form

The frown lines between the brows are produced by two primary muscles: the corrugator supercilii, which runs horizontally across the brow and pulls it inward and down, and the procerus, which pulls the skin between the brows downward. Both contract when you focus, squint, or furrow your brow.

With repetitive contraction over years, the overlying skin creases. Initially the lines are only visible during active expression. Over time, as the skin loses collagen and elasticity, the creases become visible at rest. This is when frown lines shift from a dynamic feature to a static one, and when clients typically describe feeling that they always look concerned or stressed.

Anti wrinkle treatment places prescription product into these muscles to temporarily reduce their contraction strength. The lines they produce soften, and the resting expression of the face opens and relaxes.

About Caulfield

Caulfield is one of Melbourne’s well connected inner south eastern suburbs, home to the Caulfield Racecourse precinct, the Glen Waverley and Frankston train lines, and a diverse residential and commercial community. Caulfield Plaza and the broader commercial area offer good local amenity, and the suburb’s fast paced, professionally oriented demographic means residents are accustomed to making practical choices about professional services. The 10 to 15 minute drive to Core Aesthetics in Oakleigh is a small investment for clients who have come to value the quality of Corey Anderson’s assessments.

The Assessment for Frown Line Treatment

Frown line treatment at Core Aesthetics begins with a full upper face assessment. Corey Anderson evaluates the frown complex in isolation and in relation to the forehead and brow position.

What happens in the appointment

The interaction between the corrugator and the frontalis matters significantly. If the corrugator is pulling the brow down and the frontalis is compensating by lifting, treating the frown complex without considering the forehead may lead to the frontalis working harder and new lines appearing. Treating both together is often the right approach, and the assessment identifies which combination is appropriate for the individual.

Frown only treatment
Appropriate when the frown complex is the primary concern and forehead activity is low. Produces a softened, less intense resting expression.

Frown and forehead combined
Appropriate when both areas contribute to the concern. Produces a balanced upper face result with natural expression retained in both areas.

Dosing the Frown Complex

The frown complex requires higher doses than most other areas of the face because the corrugator muscles are strong and dense. The typical dose range is 15 to 30 or more units depending on the individual, with men generally requiring higher doses than women due to larger muscle mass.

Why the range is wide

Under dosing the frown complex is one of the most common reasons why clients have a short lived or insufficient result. If the muscles are not adequately relaxed, the treatment effect is minimal or fleeting. Corey Anderson determines the appropriate dose through individual assessment and adjusts at the two week review if clinically indicated.

Treating Frown Lines: The Process at Core Aesthetics

After the assessment, if frown line treatment is clinically appropriate, Corey Anderson discusses the dosing recommendation and what the expected outcome looks like. He explains the approach to the frown complex specifically: which injection points are used, how the product is distributed between the corrugator and procerus, and what a conservative starting dose means in practice.

Treatment itself takes only a few minutes. A small number of precisely placed injection points across the frown complex. Fine needles, brief treatment. Some clients experience mild discomfort, described typically as a brief sting at each injection point. Topical anaesthetic is available but not required by most clients for this area.

The effect develops over seven to fourteen days as the muscle activity gradually reduces. The full result is visible at two weeks. A standard review at Core Aesthetics confirms the outcome and allows for any top up if clinically indicated.

When Frown Lines Are Deep: Realistic Expectations

For clients with deeply established frown lines that are visible at rest, anti wrinkle treatment softens but does not completely erase them. Lines that have been etched into the skin over years of repeated muscle contraction are structural changes in the skin itself, not just the result of active muscle movement.

In these cases, consistent treatment over multiple sessions can produce gradual improvement as the muscle is prevented from deepening the lines further, and as the skin has some opportunity to recover without continuous contraction. Dermal filler can also be used in some cases to address the structural skin change directly. The combination approach is assessed and discussed individually at consultation.

Unrealistic expectations about complete line removal in one session are addressed honestly during the consultation. Corey Anderson explains what treatment can achieve for the individual’s specific lines and skin condition, and what a realistic progression looks like over time.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

The first appointment at Core Aesthetics is always a consultation. Not a treatment session. Not a booking that assumes treatment will happen on the day. A clinical assessment.

Corey Anderson spends the first part of the appointment taking your history. He asks about what has prompted you to explore treatment, your medical background including any medications or supplements, any prior cosmetic treatments and where they were performed, and what outcome you are hoping for.

He then assesses the face. He looks at you at rest, asks you to make specific expressions, and looks at how the muscles move and how the skin responds. He notes where lines are dynamic (only visible in motion), where they have become static (visible at rest), and what the relationship is between different areas of the face.

After the assessment, he gives you his findings. He explains what he is seeing and what he thinks is driving it, discusses what treatment can realistically address, and describes what a conservative starting approach would look like. He answers your questions directly.

No treatment is performed on the day of the initial consultation. This is a deliberate structure, not a formality. It ensures the recommendation is based on assessment, not on what the appointment is logistically set up to deliver.
