What to Ask Before an Aesthetic Consultation | Core Aesthetics

Quick summary

Before any aesthetic consultation, ask about practitioner registration, clinical role, prescribing pathway, what happens if something goes wrong, and whether treatment will be recommended on the day. These questions protect you and reveal how a clinic approaches patient safety.

Frequently asked questions

What is the most important question to ask before an aesthetic consultation?

Ask for the practitioner’s AHPRA registration number so you can verify it independently. This confirms they are registered and in good standing before you proceed.

Can I attend an aesthetic consultation without committing to treatment?

Yes, and any reputable clinic should make this clear. A consultation should be a clinical assessment, not a sales appointment. At Core Aesthetics, it is always possible to attend, discuss concerns, and leave without any treatment.

What should I do if a practitioner pressures me to book treatment on the day?

Take time before deciding. Pressure to proceed same-day, or offers that expire if you do not book immediately, are worth noting. Genuine clinical decision-making does not depend on urgency or limited-time pricing.

Is a consultation required before treatment at Core Aesthetics?

Yes. Every treatment at Core Aesthetics begins with an individual assessment. Treatment decisions are not made until that assessment is complete, and some assessments result in a recommendation to wait or not proceed.

What happens if I have a concern after treatment at Core Aesthetics?

Corey Anderson is the treating practitioner and is the person you contact with any concern. There is a review process and an aftercare protocol provided at the time of treatment. You do not speak to a receptionist or a different practitioner.

Does Core Aesthetics offer reversal or correction for treatment done elsewhere?

Yes, Core Aesthetics does assess patients who have had treatment elsewhere. An assessment of the existing treatment is completed before any plan is considered. Not every concern requires correction, and that assessment is part of the consultation.

What does AHPRA say patients should check before injectable treatment?

AHPRA recommends patients verify registration, ask about qualifications and experience, confirm who prescribes, ask about risks and complications, and confirm that informed consent will be obtained before treatment. Core Aesthetics addresses all of these as part of the consultation process.
